The Port of Lake Charles is seeking candidates for Port Crane Technician 1-2-3-4 for BT#1 Maintenance.  The selected candidates will perform advanced level duties in the repair and maintenance of the Port’s cranes, heavy equipment and vehicles. Placement and salary will depend upon experience.

This is a full-time state Civil Service position that includes excellent benefits.  Salary will depend upon experience.  Level 1 requirements are One year of general experience in the installation, maintenance or repair of hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and/or electronic systems in either a commercial or industrial setting; or one-year general experience in the maintenance or repair of computer-driven cranes or heavy equipment.

Performance of these duties requires manual, physical labor, as well as work outdoors and around the waterfront.

Port Facility Maintenance Foreman
(BT#1 Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance)

The Port of Lake Charles is seeking applicants for the position of Port Facility Maintenance Foreman.  The selected applicant will be responsible for the supervision of the maintenance and repair of the Port’s facilities, electrical systems, mechanical & electrical equipment, railroads and other properties.

This is a full-time state Civil Service position which includes benefits.  Salary will depend upon experience.  Requirements are four years of experience in building construction trades, building maintenance, or in the operation, maintenance and/or repair of water vessels, movable bridges, or other equipment such as heavy, mobile, mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic.  The preferred candidate shall have a wide array of experience troubleshooting, repairing electrical & mechanical as well as training, managing and supervising personnel; also knowledge and experience of work order systems and preventive maintenance on mobile equipment.  Requires ability to perform manual physical labor, work outdoors and around the waterfront.
